AGHME Monitoring Requirements

In order to use the AGHME system to satisfy monitoring requirements associated with the State RVSM approval process, an operator must ensure that:

  • Aircraft is equipped with operational Mode S transponder (look here for relaxation of this requirement to Air Traffic Control Radar Beacon System transponder in future)
  • Aircraft complies with RVSM approval requirements
  • Relevant State approval authority has approved the operator's RVSM monitoring plan
  • Aircraft is flight planned and cleared on route within coverage area of an AGHME constellation, between FL290-410, inclusive
  • Ensure that the flight plan provides for level-flight operation through the AGHME coverage area.
  • Prior to departure, verify the status of appropriate AGHME monitoring constellation on the "AGHME Locations" link
