The William J. Hughes Technical Center provides a wide variety of video support services to the many research and development programs and other resident organizations of the Technical Center. The facility has developed a well-deserved reputation for its multiple camera documentation of FAA mission-critical test events. The video team specializes in the successful coverage of challenging test environments, including extremes of weather and temperature, as well as aerial, blast, and fire conditions.

In addition to test documentation, the facility has received numerous industry awards, including the Telly, the AXIEM, and the Communicator awards for its outstanding video production capabilities. Using the broadcast industry-standard AVIDŽ Media Composer digital non-linear editing system, the television facility creates high-quality, dynamic and effective video productions for customers throughout the FAA and other government agencies.

The facility is continually integrating emerging imaging technologies into its production base to better serve the FAA community. As the video industry migrates clearly into the digital realm, the television facility is expanding its services to include digital videography, digital and web-based distribution methods as well as DVD authoring and distribution.

Along with its production capabilities, the Television Facility also maintains and catalogs an extensive library of aviation related stock footage. The Television Facility also lends audiovisual support to the Technical Center's 250-seat Auditorium and Atrium.
